Technical data
Capacity (tph) is given per project; request a quote for exact values.
Working principle
Free-swinging hammers strike the material, which is broken until the pieces pass the grate opening. It gives very high reduction but energy and wear are high. Stage: primary/secondary (soft-to-medium material).
Material and application
Suitable: coal, limestone, gypsum, cement raw material and brick — soft-to-medium, non-abrasive material needing high reduction to fine product. Not suitable: high-silica/abrasive rock (granite/basalt/gravel) rapidly wears hammers and grate and energy soars; jaw+cone is preferred there. Wet/sticky feed blinds the grate.
Reduction, energy and wear (TCO)
Reduction is very high: up to 1:60, and 1:80 under some conditions; product is a broad 0.5–10 mm distribution. Hammers plus grate/liners are the main items; high-chrome/manganese hammers on soft material. Energy is high (10–16, up to 25 kWh/t on hard material) → energy + parts = high cost per tonne, so it is economical only on the right (soft, non-abrasive) material. In TCO the energy item is critical.
The hammer crusher is part of a full plant on a limestone/cement raw-material line; we supply the complete line and concrete batching from a single source.
S: What is a hammer crusher used for?
C: High-reduction fine crushing of soft-to-medium material such as coal, limestone and gypsum.
S: What is the reduction ratio?
C: Up to 1:60, and 1:80 under some conditions — the highest among crushers.
S: Does it crush hard rock?
C: Not recommended; abrasive rock rapidly wears the hammers/grate and energy rises.
S: Is energy consumption high?
C: Yes, 10–16 kWh/t (up to 25 on hard material); correct material selection is essential.
S: How can I get a quote?
C: Send us your capacity and material; we provide a project-specific quote and full-plant solution.
